Truck racing back at Queensland Raceway

The Super Trucks will return to Queensland on August 14 and 15 after a nine year absence

July 21, 2010

The mighty Super Trucks will unleash their thunderous big rig mayhem upon Queensland Raceway for the first time since 2001, to headline an all-action round four of the 2010 Queensland Racing Drivers Championship (QRDC) on August 14 and 15.

The Australian National Truck Racing Organisation (ANTRO) will bring 14 trucks and almost 100 personnel from all points of the nation to the Sunshine State for the first round of the 2010 Australian Super Truck Sprint Series.

Three truck divisions will take to the track within each race – Super Trucks, Race Trucks and Light Trucks. These divisions are classified by engine capacity, vehicle weight and configuration. The Light Trucks are around half the weight and half the power of the Super Trucks, making for some extremely tight racing despite the differing sizes.

“Those little blokes are all over the Super Trucks on the tight circuits,” joked ANTRO President Rob Waters, “but the big boys will come into their own on the longer straights at Queensland Raceway. I guarantee it will be superb entertainment.”
