Truck collision closes Hume Highway

Hume Highway closed after two B-doubles collide in early hours of the morning

October 27, 2010

Trucks travelling on the Hume Highway face lengthy delays after a truck collision shut down a section of the road in the south of NSW.

The incident happened about 3:30am when two B-doubles collided near the Jugiong exit of the highway.

Both trucks were travelling north at the time. Both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“Northbound lanes of the Hume Highway remain closed between Coolac and Yass. Diversions around the site are in place via the Olympic Highway, Burley Griffin Way and Cootamundra Road,” a police statement says.

Police expected road closures to remain in place until midday, while salvage crews arrived late in the morning to clear the wreckage.

One of the B-doubles lost its load of air fresheners during the accident.
