After initially planning to postpone its truck convoy until October due to the Queensland floods, the Lights on the Hill will now hold it in August.

Founder Kathy White says the convoy will kick off on August 6. Half of the profits raised will go to victims of the Lockyer Valley floods, which tore through the region last week.

White postponed the planned February 26 convoy out of respect for the victims, saying it would be inappropriate to hold it so close to the date of the floods.

The disaster has so far killed 20 people in the region and left more than 10 missing. The Lights on the Hill is located in the Lockyer Valley, and White says it "breaks our hearts" to see the devastation wrought by the floods.
