NTI tallies flood bill

Trucking insurer NTI identifies 99 incidents worth $6.7 million in the past week due to the Queensland floods

January 27, 2011

National Transport Insurance (NTI) identified 99 incidents worth $6.7 million in the past week due to Queensland’s floods.

The company has been able to settle over one third of the claims and aims to have settled 75 percent of them by next week, its corporate development and planning General Manager Mike Edmonds says.

“Gearing up our local claims staff, placing extra assessing staff in the field and paying on-the-spot electronic fund transfer statements are some of the key elements that the company has immediately introduced to expedite the situation so that trucking businesses can get back on track,” Edmonds says.

Trauma counselling is also being used by a number of their customers, he says.
