Two trucks carrying chicken and paint collided in Melbourne’s west this morning, closing a section of the Princes Freeway.

Litres of white paint were spilled onto the freeway when the truck carrying chickens travelling east-bound hit the rear of a line marker truck between Forsyth Road and Point Cook Road just after 3am.

Neither driver was injured but a 12 chickens died. The male driver carrying chickens, aged in his 50s, is assisting police with their inquires.

The inbound section of the Princes Freeway is down to one lane after Forsyth Road.
