Queensland's long-time LNP spokeswoman on transport Fiona Simpson has been replaced as part of Campbell Newman's new-look frontbench

The Queensland Opposition’s long-time transport and main roads spokeswoman Fiona Simpson has been shuffled aside as part of a new-look frontbench led by Campbell Newman.
Newman, who recently left his post as Brisbane lord mayor to lead the LNP, today gave Scott Emerson responsibility for transport.
Simpson’s main roads responsibilities have been given to Mark Robinson, with Simpson handed community services and housing and women.
Newman, dubbed ‘Can-Do’ by his supporters, says the cabinet is the ideal team to address issues concerning Queensland.
“After nearly two decades in office Labor has failed the people of Queensland,” he says.
The former mayor will contest the seat of Ashgrove at the next election and is currently touring North Queensland to build support for his tilt at state politics.
Jeff Seeney, who has been appointed to lead the LNP in Parliament while the party waits for Newman to win a seat, has been handed the state development, infrastructure, planning and reconstruction portfolio.
Tim Nicholls is the opposition treasury and finance spokesman, with former LNP leader John-Paul Langbroek taking on responsibility for police, corrective services and emergency services.
Ted Malone has been appointed the opposition spokesman on industrial relations, employment and skills, while Jann Stuckey will look after small business, tourism and manufacturing.
Andrew Cripps will look after agriculture, food and regional Queensland. Newman has given Jack Dempsey responsibility for mining and resource management, with Andrew Powell taking on the environment portfolio.
