A key freight route south-west of Brisbane has reopened after an early morning collision between a truck and passenger bus that left five people injured.

The eastbound lanes of the Toowoomba Range near Redwood have reopened, but police officers are still at the scene of the traffic crash.

While investigations are ongoing, Queensland Police says a truck travelling down the range lost control and collided with the coach carrying 43 passengers.

A police statement says four passengers were taken to Toowoomba Hospital with minor injuries.

"A road worker was also injured, and was transported to Toowoomba Hospital with lower leg injuries," Queensland Police says.

"A bus has been arranged for the un-injured passengers to continue their journey."
