Mulder to look at dangerous Calder Freeway interchange

Victoria's transport minister to address a dangerous interchange on the Calder Freeway

Victorian Transport Minister Terry Mulder has promised to address a dangerous interchange on the Calder Freeway outside Bendigo.

ATN recently reported on Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan calling on the government to match a promise from the former Labor administration to spend $7 million to improve the section of the highway.

The route, which services central and northern Victoria, has been home to a series of fatal and serious injury crashes in the past two years.

“What I will do for the member for Bendigo East is go back to VicRoads and have a look at that commitment. I will find out exactly where the Calder Highway, Ravenswood interchange is,” Mulder says.

“We have made a number of major commitments to the Bendigo community, particularly in the health area, but I am more than happy to follow those issues through for the member for Bendigo East.”

The highway is a vital link for freight, business, commuters and tourists between Melbourne, Bendigo and Mildura.
