New F5 on-ramp opens to traffic

New on-ramp opens on the F5 Freeway south-west of Sydney to reduce travel times

June 8, 2011

The new on-ramp on the F5 Freeway south-west of Sydney has opened as part of the $138 million upgrade to the route to improve safety and reduce congestion.

Federal Infrastructure and Transport Minister Anthony Albanese says the Raby Road on-ramp will benefit motorists entering the freeway from the west and from Campbelltown Road.

Prior to the completion of the on-ramp, Albanese says there was no access on the F5 for northbound motorists from Raby Road.

“These changes are significant milestones on the F5 widening project and will reduce congestion and improve road safety,” he says.

Final works are still underway on widening the route between Raby Road and Narellan Road. Albanese says the project is expected to be completed late this year.
