Truck rollover on the Bruce Highway kills truck driver and passenger
June 30, 2011
Queensland Police has confirmed that a truck rollover on the Bruce Highway today killed the driver and passenger.
As the Forensic Crash Unit investigates the incident that happened near Maryborough on the state’s Fraser Coast, a police statement says officers have not yet identified the deceased pair.
The truck rolled at the Tinana exit on the highway about 8:15am, trapping the occupants and shutting off southbound lanes.
Police organised a rescue operation, unaware if the driver and passenger were still alive.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area, as traffic diversions and lane closures were imposed.
