West Gate repairs to lead to lengthy delays

Lanes will be closed and speed reductions imposed on Melbourne’s West Gate Freeway for repairs to a pedestrian bridge

June 22, 2011

Lanes on Melbourne’s West Gate Freeway will be closed later this month due to repair works on the pedestrian bridge at Rosala Avenue.

VicRoads will undertake maintenance work on the section of the route between June 25 and 26 from 9pm to 8am. Outbound lanes between Millers Road and Grieve Parade will be closed.

Traffic will be detoured via the Millers Road exit ramp between 11pm and 7am. Lanes will be closed from 9pm, which VicRoads says will result in minor delays.

Lane closures and speed reductions to 40km/h from 9pm to 7am will apply to inbound traffic, which is expected to cause major delays.
