September 23, 2011

A section of Burley Griffin Way, near Stockinbingal in NSW, was closed this morning following yesterday’s fatal crash between two trucks.

A B-double, which was loaded with eggs, and a semi-trailer, were travelling in opposite directions 20 km west of Stockinbingal when they crashed into each other.

The semi-trailer driver, in his 60s, died at the scene.

The other driver, aged in his 50s, was uninjured but taken to Cootamundra Hospital where he was subjected to mandatory blood tests.

A crime scene was established at the crash site which extended for about 800 metres.

The area was littered with a large amount of debris, including thousands of smashed eggs.

Forensic examinations were conducted at the scene.
