Prime movers from Heavy Haulage Australia will hit the track during Willowbank Raceway's season opener

October 12, 2011

Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway’s season opening event on November 26 will feature drag racing with a difference.

As well as jet powered dragsters, nitro-burning 8,000hp funny cars and
nitro burning 4,000hp nostalgia funny cars, several prime movers from Heavy Haulage Australia (HHA) will add extra colour to the ‘Flame and Thunder Extravaganza’.

One certain starter is HHA’s big red 19-litre Peterbilt.

Willowbank organisers say Heavy Haulage boss Jon Kelly, in addition to showing off his show-stopping trucks, plans to drag race two of his prime movers on the track.

The Saturday night event will commence at 5pm with the main attractions supported by more than 100 other drag racing vehicles, including the spectacular Supercharged Outlaws category.

The ‘Flame and Thunder Extravaganza’ will culminate with a fireworks display.
