A truck driver has been seriously injured after crashing his B-double into a creek off the Hume Highway

A truck driver has been seriously injured after crashing his B-double into a creek off the Hume Highway in NSW.

The incident happened near Mittagong about 5:20am when the driver was travelling north.

NSW Police says the vehicle steered off the road, going down an embankment between two bridges and then landing in the creek below.

NSW Police has appealed for information on the crash.

Anyone who might have seen the truck before it left the road or has other information that could assist investigators has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
