Near misses as cab fire heat sets light-commercial vehicle on collision course with traffic

An electrical fault in the dashboard has been blamed for a light-commercial truck fire in Perth, according to news reports.

Vision of the conflagration, taken by a witness in building nearby, shows the stationary truck’s cab aflame as fire brigade trucks arrive to extinguish it.

But officers were unable to tackle it before fierce heat caused the brakes to fail and the vehicle backed across the Stirling Highway in Nedlands, NineMSN News reports.

Somehow it came to rest parallel to the curb across the highway and did not come into contact with traffic or stationary vehicles.
