Taking over from Superintendent David Newton, Taylor will work together with the Victorian Transport Association (VTA), VicRoads and the Transport Workers Union (TWU) on heavy vehicle enforcement issues.

His transition into the role started late last year.

Taylor’s role will involve truck safety and chain of responsibility obligations.

Newton has on numerous of occasions last year spoken to industry members about procedures and responsibility and has visited the Port of Melbourne and attended the VTA’s training sessions.
