Victoria Police is seeking witnesses to a fatal hit and run collision involving two truck drivers and a motorcyclist.

Investigators believe two semi-trailers were travelling west on Geelong Road in Brooklyn about 7pm when the motorcycle allegedly attempted to overtake the trucks by riding between them.

The motorcyclist then lost control and collided with one of the trucks, near McDonalds Road.

The male rider, believed to be in his mid 20s, died at the scene.

Both truck drivers failed to stop but have since come forward to police. The men are currently assisting police.
