Man dies after the car he was driving collided with a truck at Lang in Victoria yesterday

A man has died after the car he was driving collided with a truck at Lang in Victoria yesterday.

The incident happened at 3pm on the South Gippsland Highway, about 5km east of the Bass Highway.

Police believe the car veered onto the incorrect side of the road before colliding with the oncoming truck.

The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, died at the scene and remained trapped in the vehicle for several of hours.

The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old Lang Lang man, was treated at the scene for shock.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, and anyone with information about the fatality is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
