Trucks, trailers and transport equipment belonging to the now defunct 1st Fleet will go under the hammer in Brisbane next week as part of a nationwide auction.

Automotive auctioneer Manheim and insolvency auction specialist Hymans will hold the auction at 10am on June 6, with the event following the Melbourne auction due to be held tomorrow.

1st Fleet administrator de Vries Tayeh issued instructions for staged auctions of 1st Fleet’s assets throughout May and June after creditors earlier this month voted to liquidate the company.

The Adelaide auction will be held on June 5, followed by a June 7 auction in Canberra. Another auction will be held in Perth on June 12, and on June 13 in Sydney.

Manheim says the sell-off is one of the largest liquidation auctions ever held in Australia, with 680 trucks, trailers and transport equipment to be sold.

“A large range of late model trucks, trailers and transport equipment will be offered in the Brisbane auction which is being held at Manheim, located at 110 Lamington Avenue, Eagle Farm,” Manheim says in a statement.

“Members of the public can inspect all items listed for auction on Tuesday June 5, between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Viewing will also be possible on the morning of the auction itself.”

Manheim will also stream the auction online for interested buyers interstate or overseas.
