The Victorian Transport Association’s (VTA) incoming industry services manager says he is looking forward to new adventures.

John Gilbert, who worked as a training specialist at the Transport and Logistics Skills Council (TLISC), will join the VTA on July 9.

“I’m with my current employer until the 6th [of July] and out of respect for them I don’t want the illusion that I have dropped the ball already and that I’m working for the VTA. But all I can say is that I love the opportunity and I’m really looking forward to working with Phil [Lovel], Neil [Chambers] and the rest of the VTA,” Gilbert says.

“I have always been around working with the members at the VTA at different roles I have had in the past so it’s a good opportunity for me now to meet them more openly in their own environment.”

Gilbert has worked at the TLISC for four years and has previously had business development and management roles with several training providers in the transport and logistics industry.
