July 26, 2012

New South Wales Police has warned motorists to expect traffic delays on the Great Western Highway following a fatal collision between a motorcycle and truck.

Police and emergency services were called to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains about 8.40am after receiving news of the incident.

Westbound lanes of the highway have been blocked and a contra-flow has been set up between Dalrymple Avenue and Station Street.

New South Wales Police says a crime scene has been established and investigations are underway into the cause of the collision.

“Motorists are advised to expect lengthy traffic delays, remain patient and consider alternate routes. Traffic heading west towards Lithgow should consider using the Bells Line of Road,” a statement from New South Wales Police says.
