Hancock to hold webcast on NHVR

Man tasked with getting the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator up and running will hold webcast to update industry

August 17, 2012

A webcast will be held next week to update the trucking industry on the work surrounding the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).

The webcast will begin at 1pm on August 20, and comes as legislation to create national regulations and the NHVR works its way through Queensland Parliament.

Those interested in participating in the event need to click here. The webcast is being held as part of the TruckWeek 2012 event run by the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).

"I will be in conversation with CEO of the Queensland Trucking Association Peter Garske about how things are shaping up in the build up to the January 2013 commencement," NHVR Project Director Richard Hancock says.

He says trucking operators can send in questions for him to answer by emailing the NHVR Project Office before or during the event. He says emails must have the word ‘webcast’ in the subject line.

"If you can't make it live, don't worry. We'll be recording the webcast and uploading to the NHVR website afterwards along with questions asked and answers provided," Hancock says.

Garske was appointed to the board of the NHVR earlier this year.
