A police investigation is underway in New South Wales after two trucks were struck by rocks on the M7 motorway yesterday afternoon.

NSW Police says an Isuzu work truck and a semi-trailer were travelling north over a bridge at Hinchinbrook near the Cow Pasture Road exit about 4.45pm when they were hit by rocks.

A large rock cracked the first truck’s windscreen, while the other was left with an indentation on the windscreen in line with the driver’s head. Both truck drivers managed to pull over safely and were not hurt.

Police were called to the scene and carried out an extensive patrol of the area but could not find anyone.

Police believe the rocks were thrown through a gap between the protective wall and the bridge on the side of the motorway.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about those involved to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
