VTA hits the road to meet the locals

The VTA will host regional breakfast workshops in Victoria to provide advice to and receive feedback from local operators

August 8, 2012

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) will host regional breakfast workshops in Victoria over three months to provide information and advice to transport and logistics companies.

VTA CEO Neil Chambers says the team will begin visiting towns at the end of August to inform companies about the latest regulatory issues and business initiatives.

The workshops will begin on August 29 and run through to October 11 at a number of different venues throughout Victoria.

Chambers says operators will be able to discuss important local issues and provide direct feedback to the VTA.

“Often regional companies are too busy and too far away to come to Melbourne for meetings and other networking opportunities so this is a great chance for them to join us for an information exchange,” he says.

“We look forward to VTA members and non-members alike coming along.”

The workshops will cover topics such as industrial relations, workers compensation, superannuation and health insurance.

The breakfasts will run from 7.30am to 9.30am, with the first event kicking off in Bendigo. The VTA will then move to Traralgon on September 4, Sale on September 5 and then to Mildura on September 19.

A breakfast will be held in Shepparton on September 26 and Ballarat on October 10, with the final workshop to take place in Warrnambool on October 11.

The workshops are free and are open to anyone in the industry. Those interested in attending must register by contacting the VTA on 03 9646 8590.
