Victorian Transport Association (VTA) President Paul Freestone has praised the tutelage of Star Track Express founder Greg Poche for putting him on the road to success in the industry.

Speaking at the 23rd annual Freight Industry Awards in Melbourne recently, Freestone referred to Poche, his long-time mentor who he says introduced him to the transport industry and a strong work ethic.

Freestone, who established Freestone’s Transport 31 years ago, says Poche is the reason he has come so far in the industry.

“I can’t thank Greg enough for the opportunity he gave us to live the life we live today,” Freestone says.

“In life there are a lot of young people out there and you will need someone that you admire and that will become a mentor for you. Greg became a person that you didn’t have to sign your life away, his work was his life and a handshake and a slap on the back for the job well done.”

Based in Melbourne and operating a second site in Sydney, Freestone’s Transport runs a fleet of 65 prime movers.
