A Perth-based driver working for TNT Express will square off with drivers from around the globe next month in the final of the Drive Me challenge.

To be held in Germany on October 4, the TNT-run event tests the skills of pick-up and delivery drivers, with challenges focused on driving accuracy, customer service and safe and fuel-efficient driving.

Murray Henderson of Forrestfield in Western Australia won the national final of the second Drive Me challenge, heading off four other challengers from across Australia in Sydney on August 25.

Henderson’s victory marked the second time a Perth-based driver has won the event. TNT says 1,915 drivers across Australia participated in the challenge this year, while 15,000 drivers from across 20 countries have competed globally.

“The Drive Me challenge showcases the abilities of TNT Express drivers by assessing fuel efficiency, safe driving and customer service skills,” TNT Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands Managing Director Bob Black says.

Countries competing in the Drive Me challenge final include South Africa, Chile, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, China, Greece and Denmark.
