New South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses following a truck crash at Mount Seaview on the state’s Mid North Coast.

The 54-year-old truck driver was found trapped in his cabin yesterday morning when police and other emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway, about 12km west of the Mount Seaview Road exit, following reports of a truck leaving the road and crashing.

The vehicle was found 80 metres down an embankment, coming to rest in dense bushland. Emergency crews freed the man who was then stabilised by paramedics and airlifted to hospital.

He remains in a critical but stable condition with head and chest injuries.

Anyone who has witnessed the incident or were following the truck prior to the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
