A diamond interchange should be installed at a busy intersection south-west of Melbourne to alleviate traffic problems, Victorian MP Jill Hennessy says.

The Altona MP says the rapid growth of Point Cook in recent years has increased congestion at the intersection of M1 and Sneydes Road.

“My office regularly receives calls from people sitting in their cars, upset to the point of tears at having to endure stress of sitting in stationary traffic day after day,” Hennessy says.

“Growth is a major concern to this local community.”

Works to duplicate Sneydes Road from Hacketts Road to Point Cook Road are currently under way by the Wyndham City Council.
