The Mitchell Highway south-east of Dubbo in New South Wales is expected to be closed for most of the day due to a fatal crash that killed a truck driver.
Police and emergency services were called to the highway 30km south of Wellington about 4.10am today to find a truck laden with magazines on its side. The driver died at the scene.
The highway is blocked in both directions, and police have established traffic diversions.
NSW Police says traffic needs to divert at Molong down Cumnock Road, while traffic south of Molong should divert along Burrendong Way.
“However, heavy vehicles cannot travel along Burrendong Way and will have to use an alternate route via Parkes,” NSW Police says.
