Fuel supplier Shell has apologised to the transport industry for the recent diesel shortage across Victoria, saying imported diesel has arrived and will be available over the coming days.

Shell spokesman Paul Zennaro says diesel production will be ramped up in the next few days with more supplies arriving later this week.

Shell, which supplies 50 percent of Victoria’s diesel, resolved its diesel production issue at Geelong refinery on Sunday.

“Diesel availability at Shell branded stations will improve as the company increases deliveries,” Zennaro says.

“We are working hard to have this sorted by Christmas.

“Obviously Shell apologises to customers and will continue to do all it can to fix the situation.”

An electrical fault at the Geelong plant halted production over the past week.
