Operation Toad leads to a number of defect notices being handed out to tow truck companies in Sydney
December 3, 2012
A number of trucking companies in Sydney have been hit with defect notices as part of a police operation targeting compliance in the tow truck industry.
Operation Toad began at 9.30am on November 28, led to 19 tow trucks being inspected and 13 defect notices being issued.
The operation involved New South Wales Police and the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS). A tow truck driver found to be driving on a suspended licence had it cancelled when RMS inspectors detected the breach.
NSW Police says it will continue to work with RMS inspectors on two truck compliance in the coming months.
