Brisbane to host workforce training seminar

Information seminar to outline how operators can access government funding for training and workforce development

January 24, 2013

An information seminar will be held in Brisbane next month to outline to trucking operators how they can access government funding for training and workforce development.

The Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC) will host the free event on February 15 at Stones Corner to explain the National Workforce Development Fund (NWDF).

Announced in July last year, the fund is a Federal Government initiative to support training and workforce development in areas of current and future skills need. The Government will provide $700 million over five years to industry.

The TLISC says the seminar will provide an overview of the NWDF, eligibility criteria, funding opportunities and the application process.

The seminar, which will be held at The Terrace on Logan Road, will start at 7.45am and finish by 9.30am.

Those interested in attending need to contact Sally Wagnon at the TLISC by February 12 and include their name, position, business and contact details.
