Police appeal for tow truck driver who filmed a person deliberately lighting a fire to come forward

January 10, 2013

New South Wales Police is appealing for a tow truck driver who filmed a person deliberately lighting a scrub fire in Winston Hills on January 8 to come forward.

Emergency services were called out to a traffic island on the corner of Old Windsor Road and Caroline Chisholm Drive to attend a fire.

While working on putting out the fire, a tow truck driver approached the NSW Fire and Rescue officers telling them what he saw – a boy lighting the fire, which he filmed on his phone.

He then left the scene, telling the officers he would report it to police.

Police want to talk to the driver and are urging him or anybody else who can assist with inquiries to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
