Queensland to submit funding wish list

Queensland to use this year's federal election to deliver list of transport projects it wants funded

January 24, 2013

The Queensland Government will use this year’s federal election to deliver a wish list of transport projects it wants funding for.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson says greater federal investment is needed in Queensland’s transport infrastructure and that he will be raising the matter with federal Labor and the federal Coalition.

He says key projects at the top of the list will be a second range crossing for Toowoomba, more money for the Bruce Highway and funding for rail projects.

“I’ll also be calling on federal Labor to step up and match the federal Coalition’s $1 billion commitment to upgrade the Gateway Motorway between Nudgee and the Bruce Highway,” Emerson says.

“I won’t be letting a single opportunity pass in the next few months to remind both federal Labor and the federal Coalition of Queensland’s transport infrastructure needs.”
