Paccar Australia Managing Director Joe Rizzo will leave the company in March after more than three decades of service

January 23, 2013

Paccar Australia stalwart Joe Rizzo is retiring after 35 years of outstanding service, the company says.

Rizzo, who has been managing director of Paccar Australia since 2007, will stand down from the role in March.

US-based Paccar owns the Kenworth and DAF brands. Kenworth trucks sold in Australia are designed and manufactured in the country.

“Joe has made an excellent contribution to the growth of Paccar Australia and his leadership has enhanced Kenworth’s reputation as a world-class company,” Vice President Helene Mawyer says.

“Joe has been an industry spokesman and is a champion of Australian manufacturing.”

Mawyer says Paccar has introduced many new truck models under Rizzo’s leadership, including the Kenworth K200 and the DAF XF105, which won the 2012 Australian International Design Award.

Mawyer adds that under Rizzo, Paccar Australia won Victorian Employer of the Year in 2012.

Assistant General Manager for Peterbilt Trucks – a Paccar brand built in the US – Mike Dozier, will take over from Rizzo. Dozier has previously been a Kenworth chief engineer.
