THE TRUCKING industry lost another member on December 20, 2012 when Rodney ‘Rod’ Prior passed away.

Rod, late of Ipswich and formerly from Liverpool, Newcastle and Sussex Inlet NSW, was 61 years young when he succumbed to a short-term illness.

Rod was a beloved man to many, father to Bredee and Jade and grandpa to Cooper and Mackenzie.

He drove trucks for 40 years and countless miles from the east coast to the west, and from north to south. There were not many roads or land which he left uncovered. Rod loved his girls (trucks) and enjoyed every minute on the road.

It was often said that Rod was filled with diesel rather than blood.

The funeral of Rodney Prior will be held on January 4, 2013 at midday at the Centenary Memorial Gardens at Wacol in Queensland.

He will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
