Black and Clark in ATA poll

Owner driver position up for grabs as McMillan continues to represent small-fleet owners

February 15, 2013

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has named two candidates for the position of owner driver representative on the organisation’s general council.

They are Frank Black of Coopers Plains in Queensland, and Allan Clark of West Wyalong in New South Wales.

Doug McMillan was returned unopposed as the small fleet (two to five trucks) representative.

McMillan has represented small fleet operators on the ATA council for nearly two decades.

He is a member of the ATA board and a director of TruckSafe.

“I plan to do what I have done for 19 years – to represent the small end of the industry and fight the battles for us,” McMillan says.

“Some things we win, some things we lose, but small fleet operators need to be represented and that is what I will continue to do.”

Voting begins next week and the ACT Electoral Commission is conducting the election by postal ballot, with ballot papers due back by Tuesday, March 12.
