A truck driver has been arrested in South Australia for driving while disqualified over the weekend.
The 29-year-old Balaklava man has been bailed and will also appear in court at a later date for exceeding work hours and failing to maintain work diary.
He was intercepted by the police just before 10.30am with a fully loaded double road train on Churchill Road North on his way to Moomba.
He produced a Northern Territory driver’s licence which upon checks was found to be disqualified in South Australia.
A work diary check revealed the vehicle had not been maintained since February 4 when he was in Toowoomba in Queensland.
A further examination found the rear trailer with a structural crack in a spring hanger mount.
The driver was arrested for seven counts and his vehicle was defected.
