Nearly $100 million to be spent to give the route between Worongary and Mudgeeraba six lanes
February 8, 2013
The Pacific Motorway between Worongary and Mudgeeraba in Queensland will be widened to six lanes.
The new upgrade worth $95.5 million will start later this year and is expected to be completed by 2015.
Safety improvements such as additional lanes in each direction in the centre median will also be added, with the Worongary interchange southbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp and the Mudgeeraba interchange southbound off-ramp to be improved.
Works will also include widening of the existing bridges in the southbound direction and building new bridges in the northbound direction.
Queensland Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson says speed will be reduced through the work site.
The upgrade is equally funded by the Federal and State Governments.
