QTA AGM set for next month

QTA's 2013 AGM to appoint board of directors and hear from accounting firm on implications of carbon pricing on trucking

March 12, 2013

The Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) will hold its annual general meeting next month, where it will appoint its 2013 board of directors and look at the implications of carbon pricing on the industry.

The AGM will be held on April 16, but the deadline for nominations for board members is April 8.

Dylan Byrne from accounting practice BDO will address the meeting about carbon pricing, which is due to apply to fuel for the heavy vehicle industry from July 1 next year.

"For the past four years, many Australian businesses have been reporting CO2 emissions arising from their use of liquid fuels as part of their National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) obligations," the QTA says.

"For transport related businesses, a number of key questions should be posed in assessing the areas of concern of risk from a reporting perspective."
