Scott Corp finalises Hawkins Road Transport purchase

New owner expects new Energytrans arm to garner full-year revenue of $20 million

Bulk transporter Scott Corporation has officially bought family business Hawkins Road Transport.

Hawkins’s assets and contracts have been signed over to Scott Corporation and the deal will take effect on April 2.

Scott Corporation expects about $20 million in full-year revenue from the acquisition.

Hawkins specialises in distribution of fuel and petroleum products to the mining, aviation and retail consumer sectors in central and north Queensland.

Scott Corporation has two main transport brands, Chemtrans and Bulktrans.

Under the Chemtrans brand, dangerous liquids, chemicals and explosives are transported by road, rail and sea, Australia-wide.

The Bulktrans operation offers transport and handling of dry bulk products, including coal, minerals, excavated material, construction supplies, grain, fertiliser, and agricultural products.

The compay reiterates that the
Hawkins purchase will allow it entry into the energy market with, volume relative to industries serviced by the corporation’s Chemtrans and Bulktrans brands.

The new business will be branded Energytrans.
