Women in the transport industry are asked to complete a survey that aims to address the lack of knowledge about females in the sector.
Transport Women Australia (TWA) is compiling the survey, which has been sent to women in all industry sectors.
It is designed to gather information on how the transport industry can be made more appealing to women. The results will be released at the Brisbane Truck Show in May.
TWA Chair Pam McMillan says the group has already received positive feedback.
“We are conducting the survey because government agencies ring us up and ask what the percentage of women in the industry is. People are trying to highlight either that there aren’t enough women or that we could get more women in,” McMillan says.
“You can make assumptions but if you’ve got the facts in front of you it’s easy to give the correct data.”
