May 1, 2013

Victoria Police is calling on a truck driver who lost a load on the Hume Freeway in Tallarook this morning to come forward.

Investigators believe the truck was travelling south on the freeway when it lost the load of large hydraulic vessels, three-phase electric motors and cabling about 1.45am.

The blue hydraulic vessels ruptured upon fall, causing fluid to spill onto southbound lanes.

Police believe the driver may not have been aware of the pallet dislodging.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Meanwhile, a truck driver has escaped injuries in New South Wales when his load of wheelie bins caught fire.

The truck was travelling on the Hume Highway south of Berrima when he noticed smoke coming from his two trailers about 4.40am.
The load and trailers were destroyed in the fire.
