West Farms get its combination back

Police and company thank media and public after stolen prime mover and trailer are recovered

July 15, 2013

West Farms has located its stolen prime mover and trailer, with Kenworth checking the prime mover for damage this morning.

Queensland Police thanked the media and the public for their assistance and company director Ken West believes a combination of industry media, facebook and word of mouth, especially among truck drivers, was particularly helpful.

The company’s Kenworth T604 prime mover and Lucar refrigerated trailer were found abandoned at Laidley, near Gatton, yesterday afternoon.

The trailer had suffered one flat tyre and its cargo of bunched beetroot had spoiled as the cooling system had been switched off.

West was unsure about the motive for the theft but did say it had travelled 1,000 km since going missing from Kalbar late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

"It was spotted coming back from Roma at the weekend," West says.

Police, whose investigations are continuing, advise anyone with information that could assist with this matter can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au
