Caltex increases AdBlue bowser availability

More than 40 service stations will have pumps by the end of the year

August 2, 2013

Caltex Australia says it will have 40 service stations around Australia by the end of 2013 where trucks can fill up their AdBlue tanks using a pump.

For weary truckies, this beats filling tanks by pouring in the contents of multiple 10-litre plastic containers. AdBlue pumps are installed next to the diesel pumps.

AdBlue is needed for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emissions treatment in many newer trucks.

There are currently 32 Caltex sites with dedicated AdBlue dispensers, which the company says is the most of any truckstop network in Australia.

“With Australia’s vehicle emissions standards continuing to be brought in line with Europe and North America, the transport industry’s demand for products such as AdBlue is quickly growing,” Caltex General Manager of Marketing Leo Pucar says.

“While most fuel retailers offer AdBlue packs in store, Caltex is leading the fuel industry in increasingly providing this specialty product at the bowser,” Pucar says.

He says Caltex has targeted sites along major transport routes and in close proximity to major industrial parks and business hubs.
