NHVR to host webinar

National Heavy Vehicle Regulator will answer industry’s questions during an hour-long webinar this week

August 14, 2013

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) will hold a webinar this week to detail what the new regulatory agency means for the heavy vehicle industry.

The NHVR website will host the web-based seminar on August 16 from 10am to 11am. People will be able to view and listen, send in questions or make comments.

Queensland Trucking Association (QTA) CEO and NHVR board member Peter Garske will host the event, which will involve a panel made up of NHVR CEO Richard Hancock, Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association Vice-President Liz Schmidt and QTA Director Tim Knowles.

Queensland Bus Industry Council Executive Director David Tape will also join the panel.

Hancock says a webinar is the ideal way to engage with the industry.

“We often meet face-to-face with industry at forums and events to answer their questions and listen to their concerns but it’s a big country and we can’t be everywhere over the next few months,” Hancock says.

“Anyone near a computer can log on, listen and learn more about our new services from September 1.”

Anyone can submit questions leading up to and during the webinar by sending an email to the NHVR. Responses to questions not answered on the day will be posted later on the NHVR website.

For those who cannot view the live stream on the day, the NHVR will also upload the webinar sessions to the NHVR website soon after, so viewers can watch at their leisure.

Hancock says the NHVR will be hosting more webinars over the coming months.
