RSRT cancels August hearings

RSRT cancels remaining hearings on a draft remuneration order and will resume them in October

August 15, 2013

The Road Safety Remuneration Tribunal (RSRT) has dumped its plan to implement a remuneration order by October 1, with hearings on the draft document now scheduled to run until October 31.

The tribunal today announced it was cancelling today and tomorrow’s hearings on the draft order and will now hold hearings from October 29 to 31. Hearings were originally scheduled to run from August 12 to 16.

The draft order mandates 14-day payment terms and paid waiting times and imposes obligations on all parties in the supply chain relating to safe driving plans, driver training, contracts and drug and alcohol policies. The RSRT proposed implementing it on October 1 and allowing it to run for four years.

The hearings will be held in Sydney at 10am, with a video link to Melbourne. The RSRT says any person wishing to appear by video link from Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart or Perth must notify it by email by 4pm, October 24.
