Serial fine-dodger has truck impounded

Victoria Police and the Sheriff’s Office in joint registration and fines compliance operation

Two truck drivers caught with outstanding fines were booked for traffic offences in a joint operation in Melbourne’s southeast yesterday.

A semi-trailer was impounded on the Nepean Highway in Rosebud West when Victoria Police and the Sheriff’s Office discovered 350 warrants worth $94,000.

The driver had more than $5,000 in outstanding fines.

Another driver from the company was called in to carry the load but was found to have 55 outstanding warrants worth more than $30,000.

Ten unregistered vehicles were detected during the operation, including an unlicensed driver, a disqualified driver and four were issued with defect notices.

Over 600 warrants were issued by the Sheriff’s Office and outstanding fines worth $230,000 were actioned.
