Nominate dodgy roads for Black Spot funding

Transport operators in South Australia fed up with poor roads are asked to nominate them for the Black Spot Program

November 12, 2013

Transport operators in South Australia fed up with poor roads are asked to nominate them for the Black Spot Program.

They can pass on the list to the South Australian Road Transport Association (SARTA), which will submit it to the Federal Government.

The Government will spend $4.7 million in the 2014-2015 on the program, which is designed to upgrade roads with a proven history of crashes.

For individual sites such as intersections or short road sections, there should be a history of at least three casualty crashes over a five-year period.

For lengthier roads, there should be an average of 0.2 casualty crashes per kilometre per annum over five years.

Operators are asked to submit a list to SARTA by 5pm tomorrow.
