NSW authorities will now scrutinise the company of a driver of a B-double detected travelling 120km/h on the Hume Highway

A B-double driver clocked travelling at 120km/h on the Hume Highway in New South Wales has put his employer in the sights of authorities.
Police caught the 54-year-old driver of a truck registered in Victoria allegedly speeding at Jugiong in the south of NSW late yesterday.
Officers issued an infringement to the driver for exceeding the speed limit by more than 10km/h and then grounded the truck and issued another infringement after an inspection found a non-compliant speed limiter.
“The Roads and Maritime Service will now audit the involved company’s speed compliance in terms of point-to-point and safety-camera systems, to determine whether the Joint Heavy Vehicle Taskforce needs to conduct a further examination of the fleet,” NSW Police Assistant Commissioner John Hartley says.
Hartley, who did not name the company involved, also used the incident to remind heavy vehicle operators and drivers from other states they are not immune to NSW speeding laws.
“Any truck travelling through NSW can expect to see our Highway Patrol vehicles conducting our various national highway operations, which are focused on speed,” he says.
